Thank You From #AmWriting

The #AmWriting Podcast
#amwriting

Thanks for subscribing, for supporting the podcast, and letting us into your life every week. We love your support. We appreciate it.

How to listen:

Click on the link to listen to your first subscriber-only episode and you’ll find yourself at amwriting.substack.com. You COULD listen there, but we’re guessing you’d rather get all subscriber episodes, from now on, in your usual podcast-listening app. It’s easy, and you only have to do it once to get every paid episode from now on right where you want it.

So click “listen in podcast app.” You’ll get an email with a link in it. Click the link—ON YOUR PHONE—and you will get a menu of the most popular podcast apps. Chose yours and click, and you’ll have a new “private” podcast feed for supporters only.

If your favorite listening app isn’t included, fear not. There’s an RSS link in the email. Your podcast app has a way to add that—it’s probably a “+” sign somewhere on your main page. Add the link once, and any time we do something fresh new and audio for supporters only, you’ll get it without having to do a thing. (Trust us, it’s easy. This is WHY we chose Substack.)

Some housekeeping...

If you can’t find the week’s show notes, check your spam folder. And please mark this address as ‘not spam.’ If it isn’t in your spam folder, either, you should look in the Promotions tab.

If you’re a regular Substack user (IYKYK), you may need to actually go to Substack and tell it you want to receive #AmWriting as an email by going to your account, clicking on your picture and then scrolling down to settings, then scrolling madly down until you find us under “subscriptions” and then clicking us and editing the “notifications” section to say “receive emails for new posts.” (This may also solve the question of why you aren’t getting other Substacks by email. You’re welcome.) Also, I copied this from someone else’s Substack and I’ve forgotten who. If you recognize it, hit reply or add a comment so I can credit their organizational goodness.

You can always see everything — episodes, show notes, and all — on the webpage.

Want to go deeper into the work with us?

As a paid subscriber, you would have access to special benefits:

For $8/month, here’s what you get

  • All the regular weekly #amwriting episodes, including Write Big and Margin Notes.

  • BookLAB — We take apart real submissions—first pages, book jackets, query letters, and more—to see what’s working, what’s not, and why. The more you learn to see in someone else’s work, the more you can see in your own. I plan to share a BookLAB episode each month.

  • Hot Seat Coaching — Listen as real writers work through real writing challenges with me and Author Accelerator certified book coaches. You’ll hear not just what they decide to do, but the thinking that gets them there—so you can get better at working through your own challenges.

  • The complete #amwriting archive — Ten years of conversations about virtually every stage of the writing life, organized by topic so when you hit a problem, you can find the conversations that can help. (This will take us a little while to organize but we’re already working on it!)

For the annual $80/year tier, here’s what you get:

Annual subscribers get everything in the $8/month membership for a more affordable price, plus:

  • Attend our monthly BookLABs live on Zoom. Join us each month as we work on writing in real time. Raise your hand to share your first pages, book jackets, query letters, and other work for possible coaching and feedback

  • BookLABs will happen on zoom. We’ll email links out before each episode. Times of these sessions will vary.

  • Get private recordings as I do a last-pass read-through of my forthcoming book, Write Big: 7 Questions That Will Change Your Writing Forever. I’ll read the book and decide what to change or tweak as I go, sharing the process with annual subscribers.

For the founding $180/year tier (The #amwriting Writers’ Room), here’s what you get:

Get in the room where we do the work.

Writers’ Room members get everything in Annual, plus invitations to join me and Author Accelerator certified book coaches for more intimate coaching experiences throughout the year, including Blueprint challenges for starting and revising a book.

Thanks again!

We love supporting our fellow writers, and now you’re supporting us right back, and the end goal is always the same: keep your butt in the chair and your head in game.

PS: Have a friend that would love us too?
