Sharing from GitHub
This email is part of our "10 days of marimo" onboarding series, with tips to help you get started.
If your notebooks are stored in public GitHub repos (marimo notebooks are Git-friendly Python!), you can generate publicly viewable previews of them, no log-in required.
To generate a preview, use our "Open in molab" website. This generates an "open-in-molab" badge linked to a link of the form
molab.marimo.io/github/<org>/<repo>/path/to/notebook.py
For example:
takes you to a page that looks like this:
Tips:
- In order for your GitHub previews to render outputs, make sure to commit the corresponding __marimo__session/notebook.py.json file.
- If your notebook is compatible with WebAssembly, append /wasm to the URL to obtain a live preview that runs entirely in the browser, no login required (example notebook). You can even iframe these pages to bring live marimo notebooks to your own websites. (WebAssembly live previews don't require a notebook.py.json file.)
- For an example how to use "Open in molab" links, check out our gallery GitHub repo.
