Skills for coding agents

Because marimo notebooks are stored as pure Python, with a deterministic execution order, they work well with coding agents like Claude Code and Codex. Here are a few tips for using AI with marimo:
- marimo pair. marimo pair turns marimo into a collaborative computational canvas for you and your AI agents: together with your agent, ask questions of your data and rapidly build understanding using code, UI elements, and visuals. Get closer to your data on a canvas you shape, ground understanding in code, and save artifacts you can reproduce and build on later.
- Skills. Install our official skills to equip your agents with best practices for authoring notebooks; our guide tells you how to get started, including how to configure marimo to watch changes to the filesystem.
- Editor features. Configure the marimo editor with your AI providers' keys to get access to in-editor AI code generation; tag variables with @ to provide them as context to the assistant.
