W27 Request for Startups

AI's biggest bottlenecks are moving beyond the models. We're excited about a new wave of startups building the hardware, infrastructure, financial systems, and specialized software needed to bring intelligence into the real economy, from factories and data centers to government and space.

What Happens When Everyone Can Build Software

Supabase now has 13 million users, spins up more than a million databases a week, and gets roughly 70% of its new activity from AI agents. Co-founder and CEO Paul Copplestone joins Garry, Harj, and Jared on Lightcone to discuss building for agents, why personal software could become as common as personal documents, and why knowing what to build may matter more than knowing how.

The New Full-Stack Designer

Marvin Schwaibold, who leads Shopify’s product design studio, joins YC’s Aaron Epstein to show how AI is changing his process, from using Figma as a scratchpad to building working prototypes with Codex. They explore why taste and judgment matter even more when the tools can build almost anything, then review viewer-submitted websites for practical lessons in hierarchy, motion, typography, and restraint.
