TUXEDO Stellaris 16: Desktop-Class
Performance in a Laptop

High-end processor, exceptional performance

The Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus in the TUXEDO Stellaris 16 combines impressive desktop-class computing power with mobile flexibility, featuring 24 cores and clock speeds of up to 5.5 GHz.

Whether you're multitasking, editing professional videos, compiling large codebases or enjoying high-end gaming, the powerful cooling system keeps performance consistently high while maintaining pleasantly low fan noise. The TUXEDO Control Center also lets you fine-tune performance to balance power consumption, temperatures and noise levels.

Plasma 6.8 Drops X11 in Favor of Wayland

Plasma 6.8 brings numerous improvements

With KDE Plasma 6.8, native X11 session support comes to an end. Alongside improvements to screen recording, Remote Desktop and accessibility, KDE is now fully embracing Wayland. The upcoming TUXEDO OS “Continuous Debian” will also be based on Plasma 6.8.x.

For most users, everyday usage will remain largely unchanged. Those who still depend on X11 can continue using alternatives such as Xfce or LXQt.

Digital Sovereignty: TUXEDO and Fsas Technologies Showcase Open Source Solutions

How companies can gain greater independence over their IT infrastructure

At the joint event “Digital Sovereignty Through Open Source” on November 18, 2026, TUXEDO and Fsas Technologies will demonstrate practical ways to achieve greater independence and flexibility through Linux workstations and migration from VMware to Proxmox.

Leopold Luley from TUXEDO will share insights into Linux-based workstations and TUXEDO OS. Holger Lehmann and Florian Frimmel from Fsas Technologies will present real-world customer projects demonstrating how companies can make their IT infrastructure more independent.

In addition to the presentations, the event offers plenty of opportunities for networking and personal exchange.

When: November 18, 2026, from 5:30 p.m.
Where: TUXEDO Computers GmbH, Alter Postweg 101, Augsburg
Admission: Free of charge, limited to 50 participants

TUXEDO OS Debian Open Beta Enters Its
Final Phase

There's still time to get involved and share your feedback!

Since the Open Beta started in August, numerous users have tested the five ISO releases and contributed valuable feedback and bug reports. A big thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way! In November, we'll be focusing on fixing the remaining issues and encourage you to keep reporting anything unusual.

Here's how you can share your feedback:
  • GitLab: Our preferred channel for bug reports
  • Reddit: An alternative if you don't have a GitLab account
  • Email: [email protected] – please let us know if you'd like your feedback to remain confidential
Thanks for testing and helping us make TUXEDO OS even better!

We can't yet give an exact release date for the stable version of TUXEDO OS “Continuous Debian”, but we'll announce it soon. Before then, we'll be addressing the remaining bugs and building and testing automated quality assurance processes.

How to Properly Dispose of Old Devices: Erase Your Data, Remove the Battery, Recycle Responsibly

What should you keep in mind?

Even a well-maintained laptop eventually reaches the end of its useful life. But before disposing of it, there are often several alternatives worth considering: It might still serve as a secondary device, a small home server or handle less demanding tasks. Repairing it, passing it on to family or friends, or selling it can also extend its lifespan.

Only when there's no practical way to reuse the device should it be properly recycled – never in household waste. Before doing so, make sure to securely erase your personal data and handle the battery appropriately.

A Linux Workstation in Miniature

Tiny case. Serious performance.

Small, powerful and versatile: The new TUXEDO Nano Pro – Gen15 packs an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H with 16 cores, integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics and up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM into a footprint of just 12 × 11 cm.

Whether you're developing software, working on creative projects, gaming or running AI models locally, this compact Linux PC delivers impressive performance and extensive connectivity. Two SSD slots and RAM slots, Thunderbolt 4 and dual 2.5 Gb/s LAN ports offer plenty of flexibility.

With TUXEDO OS or Ubuntu, full Linux support and no mandatory online accounts or telemetry, you're always in control of your system.

DI.DAY with TUXEDO in Dachau

Switching from Windows to Linux

Many laptops end up in the bin simply because they no longer receive updates, even though they still work perfectly well. Linux offers a free and open-source alternative that also runs well on older devices. At DI.DAY, you can get to know Linux and try it out on TUXEDO demo devices, while finding out whether switching from Windows might be right for you.

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Stefan from TUXEDO and another Linux enthusiast will give a talk explaining what Linux is and what changes when you switch from Windows. Afterwards, you can try Linux on the TUXEDO devices provided or test it directly on your own laptop using a USB stick – without installing anything.

On Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a hands-on installation workshop will follow. You'll be able to install Linux on your own laptop and gain some first-hand experience. No prior knowledge is required – just curiosity!

Please register separately for Sunday's workshop. Admission is free, and coffee and water are available for €1. You're welcome to bring your own food. The venue is wheelchair-accessible.

When? Saturday, October 31, 2026, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. (Introduction and hands-on exploration) and Sunday, November 1, 2026, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. (Linux installation workshop)
Where? Dachau Public Library, Max-Mannheimer-Platz 3, 85221 Dachau, Germany
