There's a proprietary version of it

Thorben

Hey,

When I talk with people about the Criteria API, I often recognize that they don't know that Hibernate provides a proprietary extension to it.

You can use Hibernate's Criteria API by getting the CriteriaBuilder from Hibernate's Session interface.

The HibernateCriteriaBuilder and Hibernate's CriteriaQuery interface extend the CriteriaBuilder and CriteriaQuery interfaces defined by the JPA specification and support all the features you know from HQL (<- Hibernate's JPQL extension).

Speak soon,

Thorben
