What do you keep doing even though you know better?

The Spore Report

Here's a question I've been thinking about a lot:

What do you keep doing even though you know better?

Maybe you know you feel better when you exercise.

But you don't.

You know you should put your phone down.

But 45 minutes disappear.

You know a relationship needs a difficult conversation.

But you avoid it.

You know the thing you want to build.

But you keep finding reasons not to start.

This is what fascinates me about personal change.

Most of us don't actually have an information problem.

We have a gap between knowing and doing.

And psychedelics can make that gap incredibly obvious.

You can suddenly see your behaviour from the outside.

You might understand why you've been doing something for years.

You might even feel certain that everything is going to change.

Then normal life returns.

And the old environment starts producing the old behaviours again.

That's why I've become obsessed with what happens after insight.

How do you actually interrupt a pattern?

How do you create a different response?

And how do you repeat it enough that eventually it becomes part of who you are?

Here's something you can do today.

Pick one thing you already know you need to change.

Not ten.

One.

Write it down.

Then ask:

What's the smallest action I could take today that would prove I'm becoming the person who does this differently?

Then do it.
