Where React Native Devs Actually Hang Out

Okay, okay — it’s all well and good sitting at home eating Doritos, arguing with people on Reddit, and throwing the occasional thumbs-up into a React Native GitHub issue thread…


But if you really want to get involved in this community, you might need to climb out of your mum’s basement, take a flight, and come meet some of us in real life.

So how can you solve your perpetually loneliness come meet the community in person?

React Universe Conf

This is probably the biggest React Native conference. It used to be called React Native Europe back in 2019, and it’s run by Callstack and hosted in Wrocław, Poland.

They changed the name to React Universe Conf — probably because React Native is becoming increasingly multi-platform. You’re not just building for iOS and Android anymore, but also Desktop, Wearables, TV, and more.

Also… likely to connect with a wider audience. The React crowd is much larger than the React Native one. Anyway.

It’s held in the first week of September each year. Two days of conference talks, plus an optional extra workshop day.

It’s a blast. There’s usually a free cocktail bar and a huge party on the final day, where someone always gets a bit too confident and sings “Sex on Fire” at the karaoke. Yes, there’s karaoke. And yes, it’s basically required if you ever want to make a PR to React Native core.

RNLConf

RNL Conf stands for React Native London Conference. It’s one day of workshops and one conference day, held in London and run by Theodo.

What’s the vibe? It’s smaller than React Universe Conf, but don’t let that fool you — everyone who’s anyone in React Native tends to show up.

Because it’s in London, yes, it’s full of hipsters. That’s exactly why we go. It’s more close-knit and less chaotic, so you actually get the chance to have proper conversations.

It’s usually hosted in the second week of November, with tickets going on sale around September.

There’s also a neat afterparty where you can play table tennis and eat a concerning amount of pizza.

React Norway

React Norway tends to reinvent itself every year. In 2025 it was called “Ctrl + Alt + React” with a pixel-Viking theme. In 2026 it’s called “Rock & React.” Fair play to them — they put serious effort into creative landing pages. It’s hosted by Crystallize. Hosted in Norway… in case it wasn’t obvious.

This is a very tight-knit conference. It leans more toward React overall, but there are always some React Native talks. You can genuinely get to know people here.

And if you want to talk about the New Architecture while hanging out in a sauna… this is probably the perfect place to do it. If you’re into that.

It’s a single-day conference with a solid afterparty, usually held in the first weeks of June.
