One limit to rule them all

OpenAI has revealed plans to combine usage allowances across ChatGPT and Codex, as part of a broader effort to integrate its conversational AI and agentic capabilities into a single experience.

In a help article quietly published over the weekend, the company confirmed the changes will take effect “starting in December,” affecting Plus, Pro and Business subscribers. Under the new system, ChatGPT conversations and Codex tasks will draw from a common pool of tokens, with more demanding models and complex tasks consuming a greater share — though OpenAI has yet to disclose how generous the combined allowance will be.

Instant chat, ChatGPT’s faster-response mode for everyday questions and tasks, will be exempt.

This Wednesday: AI-written tests that don’t break

Your AI agents can write code in minutes, but who’s testing it? Test writing still moves at human speed, scripted tests break every time a workflow changes, and AI features that answer differently each time make the suite flaky. Join us live on November 4 to learn:

  • How an agent explores your app to find the user flows worth testing, including ones nobody listed
  • How to generate tests from a plain-language prompt, no test code required
  • How goal-based tests keep passing when workflows change
  • How to test AI features that answer differently every time without flaky failures

Your file transfers may be automated, but investigating failures, interpreting logs, and modifying workflows still take significant manual effort. AGENT

Stop runaway cloud costs from AI agents. Use queries, policies, and TTLs to enforce human ownership on all provisioned cloud resources.

WEBINAR

AI agents are only as good as what they retrieve. On the BrowseComp-Plus benchmark, GPT-4.1 answered 93% of questions correctly when handed the right documents, but just 15% when it had to find them with keyword search. Join us live on December 2 to see what agents need from search, and how to give it to them.
