We tell stories of progress in Africa.

Stories like how entrepreneurs and innovators are increasing farming productivity on the continent.

A bit about us - I launched The Flip, together with my friend and business partner Sayo Folawiyo, in 2019. We were deeply curious about how people across the continent were working to solve hard problems, and we started The Flip as our mechanism to learn.

At the same time, we also saw how stereotypical and surface-level many of the stories were about Africa. Our firsthand experience showed us that there were better stories to tell, and we set out to tell them.

The Flip started as a narrative-style podcast and quickly became one of the most popular podcasts on the continent.

But we realized if wanted our audience to better understand what was happening on the ground, we needed to show them. So in 2024 we started publishing short documentaries and explainer videos, filmed on the ground across the continent.

We're glad you're with us on this journey, because we've got an exciting pipeline of stories in development, on topics like sports, tech, climate, talent and economic development, and much more.
