The Top 10

Hereโ€™s what caught our attention this month:

  1. [Article] Miguel Fernandez migrated an ~800 page multi-language marketing website from Webflow to Astro in a single day, improved SEO/AEO dramatically, and allowed for faster changes through agents.

  2. [Tool] astro-smart-links by @EveSunMaple lets you style internal, external, and broken links in your Markdown. Get a broken link report at the end of the build.

  3. [Video] Timothy Ricks shows you how to convert any Website to Astro.

  4. [Tool] starlight-codeblocks by ewels adds 27 features to the Expressive Code blocks of Starlight and Astro sites, like focus, annotation, inline callouts and code walkthroughs.

  5. [Article] Learn how Mariana Bravo makes missing translations fail your Astro build to keep locales in sync on multilingual sites.

  6. [Tool] domlamps by svey-xyz gives ordinary HTML the lighting of a top-down game. Elements have a height, some of them emit light, and everything else casts or passes soft shadows.

  7. [Article] antvinni crunches the numbers (including costs) after moving Anastasiia's design portfolio from Adobe Portfolio to Astro. Same pages and the same look, up to 91% less to download, and a Lighthouse score of 100.

  8. [Tool] ascii-rest by bas3line provides two components to add animated ascii art to an Astro page an Astro page: an animation or a text banner in big block letters.

  9. [Video] Chris Good discusses the PHP issue and how Astro is a safer alternative to WordPress for your website.

  10. [Article] webdecoy figures out who's crawling your Astro site.

  11. [Bonus: ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿš€] Read about how Ryan Selden and Jack Hanford at Owner rebuilt their website infrastructure in Astro for speed to help local restaurants improve their online ordering experience, giving them 83% faster menu-page loads and more than 4% revenue increases:

Load the menu slower and people buy less food. Faster page = more revenue, and now there's real data on it. Owner is a 776 co and this is the kind of unglamorous infra work that actually moves the needle for these small businesses.

How we rebuilt our website infrastructure with @astrodotbuild and @Cloudflare, reduced menu-page loading time by 83%, and raised per-restaurant revenue by more than 4%. https://building.owner.com/project-speed
