October 2026: New markets, new programmes and what Scotland’s founders built

Team Techscaler

Dear Tech Enthusiast,

October was a month when Scotland’s founders were in rooms worth being in, and the next set of doors is already opening.

Cohorts confirmed for Hong Kong. A new greentech accelerator launched in Edinburgh. Investment readiness support is back on the calendar for winter. The first Claude event to come to Scotland arrives in Edinburgh in November. And five Dundee games studios returned from Gamescom with publisher conversations that wouldn’t have happened without six months of working in the same room. Across all of it, the story is the same: the right environment changes what is possible.

This edition reflects an ecosystem building with range, depth and a clear sense of where it is heading next.

The First Claude Event in Scotland

The first official Claude event in Scotland is coming to Edinburgh on Thursday 12 November, 6 to 8:30 pm. Claude Code Curious is built around the questions founders are asking right now about what AI agents can actually do for their business and where to start. Max Tatton-Brown, one of Anthropic’s first Claude Ambassadors, runs the evening with a panel, open mic, and helpdesk. Techscaler is proud to be supporting this alongside CreateFuture and CodeBase. Places are limited and approval-only.

From Dundee to Gamescom: What Proximity Built

Five Dundee games studios spent six months together at the Techscaler Dundee Hub, then took that momentum to Gamescom in Cologne. By the end, 83.8% of business health checks came back green, up from 33.1% at the start, and 46 of 47 publisher meetings at the conference ended with a follow-up agreed. What changed was not just the metrics but how the studios thought about building, and why proximity was the thing that drove it.

14 Founders at Scotland’s AI Conference

Techscaler supported 14 founders in attending ScotSoft 2026 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, where Scotland’s Minister for Innovation framed the ambition as making Scotland the natural place to do AI. The day covered trusted AI governance, the accountability questions founders building in AI need to be ready to answer, and what it takes to compete in a landscape where technical capability alone is no longer enough. Read to know what our founders took from it.

That’s it for this month’s updates! If you’ve got something brewing, a story, product, event, or opportunity, we’d love to share it with the wider Techscaler community. Stay connected, keep the momentum going, and let’s keep building a world-class tech ecosystem here in Scotland.

Take care,
