TroveBrief: A Botless AI Meeting Assistant
TroveBrief starts where most AI meeting assistants stop – at the summary. It's a complete workspace for Windows that that records Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet calls, and it's mute-aware, so nothing spoken while muted reaches a transcript. Features include:

  • When a meeting ends, actions land on the necessary list, including subtasks, recurring tasks, and deadlines
  • Project management for your whole team in one space with Kanban, folders, and notes
  • A note editor with rich text features that connects to your tasks
  • A calendar agent that integrates with GCal and Outlook that lets you type a request for events in plain English
  • TroveBrief captures your Zoom, Teams or Google Meet call locally (with no bot joining) and you get a topic-by-topic summary with action items and follow-ups
TroveBrief

Is TroveBrief right for your team? It is if:

  • You're an individual or small team up to 30
  • Your work revolves around recurring meetings and calendar commitments
  • You work on Windows with Google Calendar or Outlook
  • You join eight or more remote calls a week on Zoom, Teams, or Go

TroveBrief is currently offering a limited time Early Bird Lifetime Deal that's valid until November 6, 2026.

If you're like me, to some extend you've lost the desire to read longform text. Long articles are hard to finish and reading actual books can be a real challenge. This seems to be the case for a lot of people, especially younger people who have been raised in the internet era.

Last year a Hacker News reader asked about this: How can I regain the ability to read with focus and learn? The thread includes some good suggestions to try out.
Woman reading
Not all the suggestions will work for everyone, but you might find something that applies more to your circumstances. Some of the tips include:
  • Try going back to reading fiction
  • Practice by reading more (sounds obvious, but it's good advice)
  • Use paper books, not e-books
  • Set up a cozy reading corner
  • Always read with a pencil in your hand, rewriting things you learn
  • Write in a journal every day
  • Read graphic novels
  • Try learning to speed read
That's just a sampling of the suggestions I liked. There are lots more, and each of those is explained more in the thread. Maybe the thread will help you get back on track with reading and, more importantly, retaining what you read.

Now on to this week's hand-picked productivity links!
