Your ChatGPT plan can now write your SQL
Release • October 20, 2026
Bring your ChatGPT plan, browse every Postgres database, import your CSVs
This is our biggest release yet: 115 commits and over a hundred pull requests, from 34 contributors outside the core team. You can now run the AI features on your ChatGPT plan instead of an API key, open several PostgreSQL databases from one connection, and import data straight from a file. The grid picked up a few things too: column statistics, bulk edits and undo.

◆ What’s new ◆
Sign in with ChatGPT
If you have ChatGPT Plus or Pro, you no longer need an API key. Sign in from Settings → AI and your plan powers SQL generation, query explanations and Visual Explain analysis. Your credentials stay encrypted on your machine, and Requesty is now available as a provider too.
All your PostgreSQL databases, one connection
Until now, a second database on the same server meant a second connection. Now you pick the databases you want, and each one shows up in the sidebar with its own schemas, tables, console and ER diagram. The MCP tools know which database you mean, and the PostgreSQL plugin now works behind PgBouncer.
Import from a file
The import dialog used to read only the clipboard. Now you can point it at a CSV, TSV, JSON or Markdown file, check the preview, and create a new table or add the rows to an existing one. We tested the CSV parser on 150,000 rows.
Column statistics
Open a column’s header menu and you get the row, distinct and NULL counts, the min and max, and the ten most common values. Click one of them and the table filters by it. Masked columns stay masked: no min, max or top values.
Bulk edits and undo in the grid
Select a range of cells and fill down, set a value, set NULL, trim whitespace or change case in one go. Every change is staged so you can review it before saving, and Cmd/Ctrl+Z now undoes edits, inserts and deletes. Copy as HTML table pastes cleanly into a spreadsheet.
Export to HTML and NDJSON
Query results now export to HTML and NDJSON as well as CSV, JSON and Markdown. Visual Explain can save its plan as a CSV or as the raw output, and exported files get readable names like orders_2026-10-20.csv.
