Here are some tips on how to read the workouts and make the most of them:

“What does XXX mean?”

For all of my workouts, I provide a variety of time intervals that you can choose from, depending on your skill level. For a novice swimmer, you may want to pick an interval level on the right side of the chart (a Q or T). An advanced swimmer may want to swim on a faster interval on the left side of the chart (XX or XXX). Use your best judgement to find the best interval for you - if you try an interval level and it feels to easy or too fast, feel free switch intervals until you find the interval that is the right difficulty.

Here is an example workout (notice the chart with the interval columns):

“What do these other abbreviations mean?”

I use abbreviations to keep my workouts concise. Some of these abbreviations are more intuitive (e.g. FR stands for freestyle), whereas others may be less intuitive (e.g. DDS stands for Drill-Drill-Swim). In case you get stuck on an abbreviation, I’ve made a glossary that lists all of the most common abbreviations here.

Hope that all makes sense. If you have any questions, you can reach me directly by responding to this email.

I encourage you to claim your free month of full access, valid for the next 24 hours. You won’t regret it.
