Sure, Winnie, but nowadays the quotations are scattered across the internet and mostly wrong. My goal here is to skim off the verifiable cream of the crop and build them into weekly guides. Subjects are put to a Quote Vote each week and have ranged from housework to snobs to compliments to deception.
In my book Elements of Wit: Mastering The Art of Being Interesting, I developed a theory of wit that The Wall Street Journal said would “inspire his customers to read as widely as possible and, with the help of a few martinis, crack a little wiser than before.” In this newsletter, I continue my noble crusade.
