Dear reader,

I just now realized I did not customize the default “thank you for subscribing” template. How embarassing.

But thank you for subscribing to Dispatches. I will send you periodic email newsletters about things that are on my mind. Twitter is fun, but I’m feeling more and more like I want a space between dashed off 280-character thoughts sent directly into the maw of surveillance capitalism and epic 6,000 word-pieces published in legacy magazines.

This is an experiment, a notebook, and a way to distract myself from all of the other work I have to do.
