What is this?

First Floor is a newsletter focused on electronic music and the scene / industry around it.

Who’s behind it?

The newsletter is put together by me, Shawn Reynaldo. I’m a music journalist and have been involved in various facets of electronic music (and the wider music industry) for more than 25 years.

How does it work?

There are usually two First Floor mailouts per week, which go out on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Tuesday editions are for long-form content (e.g. essays, editorials, interviewers, etc.), and are exclusively available to paid subscribers only.

The Thursday editions are essentially a digest of the previous week in electronic music, and are available to everyone. They include news, links to noteworthy articles I’ve come across, new release announcements and a big batch of new track recommendations.

First Floor has no ads, branded content or corporate partners, and is entirely funded by direct subscriptions from readers like you. If you’d like the full experience, please consider becoming a paid subscriber.
