October 2026 Update
October brought a weekend of hacking on real patient data, a room full of live demos in New York, and more. Here’s what SPC’s been up to.

Events at SPC
It was a busy month in SF! We hosted former Senior White House Policy Advisor Sriram Krishnan, Anduril Co-Founder and Founders Fund GP Trae Stephens, Tony Zhao of Sunday Robotics, and LangChain CTO Ankush Gola.
Mid-month, we turned SPC into a lab for the Bio-Data Hackathon. Over 48 hours, more than 20 teams of biologists and engineers worked with real multimodal patient data from partners including Owkin, Stanford’s Snyder Lab, AACR Project GENIE, and more. The resulting projects spanned from retinal regeneration binders, flare-prediction CRISPR tests to models fine-tuned on a single patient’s cancer journey.
The month closed in New York with the SPC NYC Demo Showcase. We saw live demos of everything from quantum computing, spatial intelligence, lab-grown organs that predict how drugs behave, to fungi that clean wastewater.
Fund Updates
It was a big month for SPC companies.
Town raised a $108M Series B at a $1B valuation, co-led by Forerunner and Menlo Ventures, to build AI assistants that take on email, calendar, and docs for every person on a team.
Nirva raised a $25M pre-Series A, bringing total funding to $33M, for its AI wearable that listens only to you and turns your day into insight and reminders.
Cent raised a $15M Series A co-led by Blume Ventures and SPC to catch health risks before symptoms appear, combining full-body imaging, diagnostics, and AI.
Maxinsights raised a $30M seed round led by Peak XV, with participation from SPC, to capture the real-world footage robots learn from. Its network of 5,000+ contributors has recorded more than 2M hours of work.
Asymptote Labs raised a $5.5M seed round led by Tower Research Ventures, with participation from SPC, to build the runtime security layer for AI agents.
