Tuesday, October 27, 2026
Meta priced its upsized Class A common stock offering at $625 a share Monday, raising $25 billion to fund AI infrastructure spending after demand came in at roughly five times the amount on offer. Nvidia committed $3 billion to the offering as part of an expanded partnership on Meta’s Muse AI models. The sale is part of a broader financing plan that includes an at-the-market program of up to $60 billion in additional stock — and Meta is projecting capital expenditures of $135 billion to $145 billion this year alone.

Brazilian stocks had their worst day since 1998. Brazil's currency fell more than 10% after President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva beat Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro, who investors had bet would win Sunday's election. Bolsonaro hasn't conceded and said he'd ask for the result to be thrown out.
Microsoft is offering buyouts to about 60,000 of its employees. That's roughly 27% of its workforce, and anyone who accepts will leave on Dec. 31. As Microsoft spends heavily on data centers for AI, executives have said they expect headcount to shrink over the next several quarters.
Meta plans to sell up to $95 billion in new stock to pay for AI. The Facebook parent is selling about $35 billion in shares now and could sell $60 billion more as soon as early next year. Chipmakers Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom have shown interest in buying up to $5 billion of the new stock.
Anthropic's seven co-founders each own over $13 billion in stock. That's based on the price investors paid in Anthropic's last funding round. All seven have pledged to give away 80% of their Anthropic shares, but the filing says the pledges are voluntary and aren't legally binding.
Elon Musk says SpaceX closed a $40 billion debt deal for AI chips. Musk said SpaceX's income from Starlink and rocket launches helped it borrow from lenders who have nearly shut out companies that rely on AI data centers. It's unclear whether buyers of the debt have agreed on a price.
