Q-Day Won’t Come with a Countdown

This week, Cybercrime Magazine released a short film on Q-Day and why the transition to post-quantum cryptography (PQC) must be driven by risk, not predictions about when Q-Day will arrive. The brief production features perspectives from Fortune 500 and Global 2000 CISOs and cybersecurity leaders, including Keyfactor experts.
The White House’s Executive Order further underscores the urgency of the transition, directing federal agencies to migrate high-value assets and high-impact systems to PQC for key establishment by the end of 2030 and digital signatures by the end of 2031.
A multiyear program, not a one-time project, a PQC migration requires executive support, clear ownership and priorities tied to business risk. Recently named “PQC Solution Provider of the Year” in the 2026 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards, Keyfactor helps make the PQC migration journey manageable.
