Start writing CSS with confidence
Hello there,
CSS seems easy at first, but the deeper into it you get, the more complicated it becomes.
The cascade starts getting in the way.
Small changes end up having unintended concequences.
Layouts get more complex.
It gets harder and harder to manage as projects grow in scale.
All this is a sign of fragile code, which can lead to hours of wasted time while you try to get things to work properly.
As frustrating as CSS can seem though, it doesn't have to be that way.
CSS is different from other languages.
Whether you think that's a bad thing or not, it is what it is, and by embracing that it's different, and learning how it works at a fundamental level, suddenly things start to unlock and make sense.
You can spend a lot of time going down rabbit holes on the MDN like I've done over the last 10+ years of teaching CSS.
That might sounds painful, but it's actually quite fun, as long as you've got the time for it!
If you'd prefer to speed things up, I have made a course to help you start writing CSS with confidence called CSS Demystified.
The course goes over each concept that will help you better understand how CSS works, then has you practice things with small exercises to reinforce what you're learning, as well as larger challenges that combine the different concepts together.
There's also a 3-page site at the end to bring it all together.
If this sounds good, you can enroll right here.
And, if you aren't looking for a course right now, no problem, I won't bug you about it anymore ๐.
I hope I get to help you start writing CSS with confidence!
Cheers,
Kevin
