2027 Summer Fellowship applications are now open

Our Summer Fellowships in Washington, DC and London are three-month opportunities designed to accelerate or launch impactful careers in AI governance and policy.

Key dates:

• Both the DC and London fellowships will run from 7 June to 27 August 2027

• The deadline to apply for both locations is Sunday 22 November 2026

Washington, DC

The DC Summer Fellowship is a bipartisan opportunity focused on American AI governance and policy. Participants deepen their understanding of the field, connect with a network of experts, and build their skills and professional profile, all while conducting a research project of their choice under expert guidance.

London, UK

The UK Summer Fellowship has two tracks, research and applied:

Research track

Fellows in this track conduct a research project of their choice. They also participate in expert Q&As and a seminar series aimed at developing a broad understanding of the field, and spend time forging connections with other researchers and practitioners.

Applied track

Fellows in this track work on projects in areas other than research, pitched by GovAI or our partner organizations. They also participate in expert Q&As and a seminar series aimed at developing a broad understanding of the field, and spend time forging connections with researchers and practitioners.
