Vercel prototypes Go route handlers in Next.js

GoDaily
🐿️ GoDaily - November 3, 2026

Vercel is prototyping native Go support in Next.js, starting with Route Handlers and Proxy, pitched as an escape hatch for CPU-heavy work alongside the React app. On the standard library side, a proposal for a runtime/bubble package would add opt-in, host-controlled deterministic execution of goroutines, which is the sort of thing workflow engines have been faking for years. And a reminder from the vuln database that golang.org/x/crypto/openpgp is unmaintained and unsafe by design, so anyone still importing it should take the hint.
