Welcome to the ribbon-based version of ExcelTips!

ExcelTips is a FREE weekly publication; there is no cost associated with receiving the newsletter. It is designed to help you learn how to effectively use and master the latest versions of Excel, the most popular spreadsheet program in the world. Each issue contains tips which, when applied, can help you increase your proficiency with the program. Some tips are geared toward beginners, while others are geared toward those who have been using Excel for some time.

I try to publish a "laid back," conversational newsletter. Each issue contains a "Publisher's Notes" section, at the beginning, in which I detail what happens to be on my mind at the time I put the issue together. You won't hurt my feelings in the least if you skip over that section, even though there are many people who look forward to it.

Besides actual tips, I also let you know (from time to time) about things I consider of interest to ExcelTips readers. I will not abuse this, however. You can read about my "mix" of tips and non-tip information at my blog, here:

This particular version of ExcelTips that you signed up for focuses on versions of Excel that use the ribbon interface. This means that

if you are using Excel 2007, Excel 2010, Excel 2013, Excel 2016, or a later version of the program, this newsletter is for you. If you are using an older version of Excel, you might want to sign up for the menu-interface version of ExcelTips, which focuses on versions of Excel that use the traditional menu interface.
