The Linux Genie

I’m thrilled to have you join me on this exciting journey into the world of Linux. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your command line skills, The Linux Genie is here to guide you with byte-sized tutorials that make learning Linux both fun and easy.

Ok…enough of ChatGPT language, now let’s get down to the real talk. Here’s why learning Linux is important:

  • Linux is Everywhere: Linux powers everything from smartphones (via Android) to supercomputers. In fact, all of the world’s top 500 supercomputers run on Linux. The majority of websites you visit are hosted on Linux-based servers.

  • Linux pays dividends in your IT job: Much of the IT infrastructure runs on Linux. So, it’s even better if you get familiar with the environment, and know your way around it.

  • Linux is Open Source: Much of the world’s infrastructure relies on open source software, often without receiving the recognition it deserves. By learning Linux, you not only gain valuable skills but also have the opportunity to contribute to the open source community in your own unique way!
