Celebrating Another Year of Drug Science at the House of Lords

Earlier this month, we welcomed supporters, researchers, and colleagues to the House of Lords for Drug Science's annual reception.

The evening was an opportunity to reflect on our achievements, share updates on ongoing research and introduce exciting new developments, from our work on Overdose Prevention Centres and our ongoing UCL study to our new Evidence 2 Implementation programme, exploring pathways for psychedelic-assisted care within the NHS.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to the wider Drug Science Community for your continued support. We look forward to another year of advancing drug science together.

Add Your Voice to the Global Conversation about Psychedelic Medicine

Our friends at the HALI Foundation have just launched a space for people to share their real experiences with psychedelics and add their voice to the case for reform.

The aim is to build a body of honest, first-hand stories that can help shift the public conversation, and that we can point to when media and policy opportunities come up.

Casting Call: Mums Who Use Cocaine

Are you a mum who has experience of using cocaine recreationally? The Birmingham-based production studio Acclaimed Content is making a new documentary for a major broadcaster exploring motherhood and recreational drug use, and is looking to speak to women who would be willing to share their experiences without judgement.

Any initial conversation would be informal and confidential, and would not mean agreeing to take part in the documentary.

Drug Science Podcast

Join us in this episode of the Drug Science Podcast as Prof David Nutt speaks with Liam Hackett MBE, founder of the HALI Foundation. Liam details his early charitable work as the founder of Ditch the Label, and how this work gave him the skills necessary for dedicating himself to psychedelic advocacy many years later. He describes some of his early experiences with psychedelics and how they have transformed him personally, as well as shaped his beliefs on drug use. Throughout the conversation, David and Liam tackle pressing subjects in the field, including indigenous reciprocity and childhood harm reduction..

In this episode of the Drug Science Podcast, Prof David Nutt sits down with Dr Nick Sireau, the co-founder and Chair of Orchard OCD. Nick dives into his personal journey with OCD and how it led to him founding Orchard OCD, an organisation to fund new treatments into OCD. Nick goes on to explain how his paths crossed with Prof Nutt and led to an Imperial trial on psilocybin for OCD. They explore psilocybin dosing dynamics relevant for OCD, as well as other treatments that have shown promise.
