Disclosure: I sell a supplement called MicroVitamin.

I built it because of COSMOS — a randomised trial of 21,442 adults aged 60 and over, testing a daily multivitamin against placebo. Until then I'd been fairly dismissive of multivitamins, because the older studies were unimpressive. The COSMOS results were enough to change my mind about the category.

The problem was that I couldn't find a multivitamin that met my requirements.

At the time I was taking 6–8 separate supplements, and no multivitamin combined the ingredient forms I'd settled on (for example, methylated folate and B12 rather than folic acid and cyanocobalamin) without megadosing everything else in the bottle. I also wanted TMG and hyaluronic acid, which almost nothing includes.

So I built my own. MicroVitamin is made in an FDA and GMP-registered facility, with certificates of analysis published so you can check what's in the bottle rather than taking my word for it. I'll explain the reasoning properly in the next email.
