Tim's Weekly DoltHub Update
This is the weekly CEO update from DoltHub. I'm Tim, the CEO of DoltHub.
I wrote a blog article about this weekly email. Now, I'm referencing the article in the email itself. How meta? The article explains why I start these updates with a joke and why I hate it.
fdatasync vs fsync
Happy Aaron Wrote A Blog Article Week to those who celebrate. This is an especially good one.
Aaron explains the recent 30% improvement on sysbench writes we had from switching from fsync to fdatasync. If you like geeking out on the Linux filesystem, this article is for you.
DoltLite Update
I'm still spending about 60 hours a week of my free time hacking away at DoltLite, the SQLite-compatible version of Dolt. How can I possibly spend that much time and tokens? This article explains what's changed since Beta and what's next on the roadmap. If you've waiting for clearance from the tower, this is your sign that DoltLite is now stable and safe to build on top of.
Dumbo Performance
Speaking of fdatasync, that performance win was discovered by Neil's work on Dumbo performance. The goal is to be faster than Mongo, and we're there on 49 of 119 benchmarks. We always thought Dolt has the best SQL engine for JSON out there so Dumbo is the true test of that claim.
Until next week. As always, just reply to this email if you want to chat.
