Your AI agents can now call APIs, run code, and hand off work
ByteChef v0.36
Everything new in ByteChef
This release is mostly about AI agents. They get eight new tools, including subagents you define yourself, and A2A servers let other agents call your workflows. In the editor, you can now switch a node off without deleting it.
We offer a 28-day free trial, no credit card required.
Give your agents more to work with
Your agents can now call APIs with the HTTP Client tool, run code with the Script tool, search a vector store, connect to MCP servers, and call other workflows.
When an agent needs input, Ask User Question pauses it so it can ask you. There’s also a new Auto Memory tool, and the Task Tool lets an agent hand work off to subagents you define in the builder.
Let other agents call your workflows
A2A servers expose your project workflows over the Agent2Agent protocol, so other agents can call them. They live next to MCP Servers in a new Servers group in the automation sidebar, and you choose each workflow’s connections and inputs as you add it.
More of your stack, one workflow away
v0.36 ships new connectors and updates to existing ones, so more of the tools you already use can plug straight into a workflow or be handed to an agent as a tool. The full list is in the release notes.
What you can build
ByteChef runs in two modes.
Automation: connect your tools and automate work across 200+ integrations.
AI Agents: configure agents with a model, memory, a knowledge base, and live tool access. Deploy them into workflows, embed them in your product, or expose them via API.
