🤯Are You Using AutoHotkey the Wrong Way❓
Hi John Doe,
Let me share a common AutoHotkey mistake I see all the time: People start off with AutoHotkey simulating keystrokes and mouse clicks. This works fine... until it doesn't.
Here's the thing - while AutoHotkey can send keystrokes all day long, that's actually the LASTthing you want to do. It's like using a Swiss Army knife only as a bottle opener - you're missing out on its real power!
The secret to rock-solid automation? APIs and direct program interaction. Instead of clicking buttons and typing text, we can talk directly to your software. No more scripts breaking because a window moved or a button changed position or the window wasn't active/visible.
I created this quick video to help explain the difference between a Human and API approach.
The vast majority of our automation projects don't include a single SendKey or MouseClick command. Nor do we need a bunch of "sleeps" that are pure API magic - faster, more reliable, and completely invisible to the user.
Using sleep commands is like waiting 3 minutes after ringing a doorbell before ringing again... when you could just hear the "ding-dong" to know it worked.
