From Airspace Awareness to Airspace Security: Enabling Integrated Counter-UAS Solutions

From Airspace Awareness to Airspace Security: Enabling Integrated Counter-UAS Solutions

As commercial drone activity accelerates, airspace awareness and security are becoming inseparable. ANRA Technologies connects operational UTM with Counter-UAS (C-UAS) data to help organizations understand cooperative activity, assess unknown detections, and coordinate decisions across increasingly busy low-altitude airspace.

ANRA Advances Integrated C-UAS Capabilities as FEMA Opens $250M Grant Program

Protecting airports, critical infrastructure, public events, and sensitive facilities requires more than standalone drone detection. Security teams need to distinguish authorized flights from unknown activity and coordinate information from multiple sources.

ANRA's Single Integrated Operating Picture (SIOP) software and Tactical Airspace and C-UAS Operations (TACO) system combine UTM information, sensor detections, and operational data into a shared airspace picture. Both technologies have advanced from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5 to TRL 7, supported by interoperability testing through NATO exercises and U.S. Army programs.

With FEMA making $250 million available through its FY2027 Counter-UAS Grant Program, ANRA is seeking collaboration with U.S. sensor manufacturers, defense and homeland security integrators, government agencies, and critical infrastructure organizations on demonstrations, system integration, and teaming opportunities.

Introducing ANRA VISTA: Shared Airspace Awareness Made Accessible

As drone delivery, Drone as First Responder (DFR), and enterprise missions grow, public safety and infrastructure organizations need a practical way to understand nearby operations. ANRA VISTA (Visual Interface for Shared Traffic Awareness) gives authorized users visibility into participating drone activity without requiring them to operate a full UTM platform.

VISTA supports coordination among public safety, emergency response, and enterprise users, extending the value of operational UTM information to organizations that need awareness rather than flight-management tools. Contact ANRA to request a demonstration.

Meet ANRA at the Drone Security Industry & SLTT Grant Forum

ANRA will be exhibiting at the second annual Countering the Threat: Drone Security Industry & SLTT Grant Forum, hosted by DRONERESPONDERS, the Commercial Drone Alliance, and the White House Task Force on the 2028 Summer Olympics. The event brings together government, public safety, and industry leaders to discuss C-UAS technologies, federal funding opportunities, and security planning for major events and critical infrastructure.

Visit ANRA to discuss integrated UTM and C-UAS capabilities, interoperability, and potential teaming opportunities.

ANRA Selected for Four FAA Research Projects

ANRA has received four FAA Broad Agency Announcement research awards focused on challenges that must be addressed as uncrewed aviation scales. The work covers UTM and air traffic management interoperability at airports, a common altitude reference, AI/ML-based UAS classification, and digital coordination for advanced air mobility operations.

Together with research and industry partners, ANRA will investigate approaches to inform future digital aviation infrastructure and support safer integration into the National Airspace System.

ANRA Leads UK Demonstration of Shared Airspace for Multiple Drone Operators

In Chorley, Lancashire, ANRA led a UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)-approved demonstration showing how multiple drone operators can safely share overlapping airspace through interoperable UTM systems. Wing, Manna Air Delivery, and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service conducted coordinated BVLOS and VLOS operations within the same Temporary Danger Area using strategic deconfliction.

ANRA provided UTM services for Manna and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, while Wing used its own UTM system. The demonstration establishes a framework for continued shared airspace operations in Chorley, with potential expansion to other locations.

More Than 2.23 Million BVLOS Operations Supported

The FAA reports the U.S. Shared Airspace UTM Consortium has reported more than 2.23 million UTM-enabled BVLOS operations, reflecting the growing scale of coordinated commercial drone activity. ANRA’s operational UTM services support high-volume missions and strategic coordination among participating operators, launching a BVLOS flight every 10-15 seconds.

This experience demonstrates why interoperable airspace services matter not only for scaling routine operations, but also for supporting public safety awareness and broader airspace security applications.
