Welcome to Operator to Allocator

Notes From An Angel Investor
The Angel Investor's Journal

Welcome, and thanks for signing up!

You just entered a room where people learn how the game of investing in private companies actually works.

Most people will spend their entire lives investing exclusively in public markets while the greatest wealth creation opportunities happen well before companies ever go public.

That gap matters.

Over the last 20 years, I have built and exited companies, raised institutional capital, invested in more than 200 startups, and watched first hand how private market wealth is actually created with my own capital.

Not theoretically.

Practically.

This publication exists for LP’s, Operators, Investors, Founders and Angel Investors who want to understand:

  • How venture capital really works

  • How elite investors think about asymmetric outcomes

  • How to evaluate startups beyond hype

  • How wealth compounds in private markets

  • and how AI is reshaping the next generation of multi-billion dollar companies.

But this isn’t just context. My goal is to build a community centered around:

  • High-quality thinking

  • High-Quality People

  • Access to Exceptional Startups

I will break down:

  • Real investment memos

  • Why I invested in specific companies

  • Venture Frameworks and Portfolio Construction

  • Lessons from Operating and Scaling Businesses

  • What I’m seeing in AI, Robotics, Fintech, Defense and Space Tech, and emerging tech.

  • The psychology behind great founders and investors.

Some ideas will be right.

Some will evolve.

But everything will be grounded in experience and intellectual honesty.

To win in private markets you must understand a few things early:

Access follows credibility. Credibility follows judgment.

This publication is my attempt to share both in public.

Glad you’re here.
