Establishing a Biophotonic Signature of Brain Ageing

If we excite autofluorescence from brains with a 488 nm laser, young brain autofluorescence shows blue-shifted spectra; aged brain autofluorescence shows red-shifted spectra. This spectral shift is predicted by plasma SM32:2 levels. These signals allow unbiased distinction of an ageing from a young brain.

Long-Term Post-Mitotic Culture of Human Fibroblasts Recapitulates and Accelerates Features of In Vivo Aging and Enables Dynamic Testing of Anti-Aging Compounds

Human fibroblasts undergo accelerated molecular aging in long-term culture, recapitulating in-vivo aging signatures and increasing age-related heterogeneity. Direct neuronal conversion preserves biological age, enabling pseudo-longitudinal studies and a scalable platform to evaluate anti-aging interventions, including the differential effects of Metformin and Rapamycin.

Repurposing Regulatory Rodent Toxicology Safety Archives to Identify Candidate Hormetic Longevity Agents Highlights Emergent Mitochondrial Mechanisms

Mining regulatory rodent toxicology archives for pesticides uncovers substances that paradoxically enhance survival, revealing an underused resource for longevity discovery. Many candidates act via mild mitochondrial perturbations, providing a foundation to investigate stress-response mechanisms, dose–response trade-offs and therapeutic modalities for healthy ageing interventions.

A 209-Site DNA Methylation Predictor of Chronological Age Evaluated Under Empirical and Random Missingness

A stability-selected 209-CpG panel with nearest-neighbor reconstruction supports chronological-age prediction from incomplete blood methylation profiles. In held-out samples under empirically derived missingness masks, reconstruction reduced root-mean-square error by 0.365 years versus mean replacement, with larger benefits at higher missingness burdens.
